“Cancer Treatment Centers of America is patient-focused and makes the welfare of each patient its top priority,” says Dr. Pamela Crilley. In July 2011, Dr. Crilley joined the team of cancer treatment experts at our hospital in Philadelphia. She says the integrated, team approach to caring for cancer patients has proven to be a unique and exciting opportunity.
Dr. Crilley notes, “My goals are to provide the most personalized cancer care to each patient—to use targeted therapies, innovative technologies and a multi-disciplinary approach that encompasses and integrates the hopes and goals of each patient.”
“My approach to patient care is first to listen to the patient, and then to try to provide hope, compassion and an innovative, evidence-based treatment plan with input from our team,” she adds. “And, I empower patients to make decisions in their care.”
Dr. Crilley is board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. She earned a medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Crilley completed an internship and internal medicine residency at Delaware Valley Medical Center in Bristol, Pennsylvania. She then completed a hematology-oncology fellowship at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, where she served as chief fellow.
Before studying medicine, Dr. Crilley received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Temple University.
Dr. Crilley has held multiple academic and administrative positions at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital, including as Division Chief and Clinical Service Chief of Hematology/Medical Oncology. She also served on several committees at Hahnemann University Hospital.
Dr. Crilley has been a featured physician in Best Doctors in America (Best Doctors, Inc.) and a recipient of the Battafarano Award for Excellence in Clinical Care.
Her research and work have been published extensively in the American Journal of Hematology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, and other clinical journals. Additionally, she has served as an editorial board member for the American Journal of Clinical Oncology. She has also presented on breast cancer, acute leukemia and bone marrow transplantation at numerous clinical conferences.
Dr. Crilley belongs to several professional associations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and the American Medical Association.
