Dr. Jeffrey Hoag
Pulmonologist

A Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, Dr. Jeffrey Hoag is a pulmonologist and Director of the ICU at Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a specialist in diagnosing and treating lung and respiratory diseases and conditions, Dr. Hoag helps care for lung cancer patients. He also provides care to patients who have pulmonary issues such as pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, asthma and pulmonary hypertension.

Board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care and internal medicine, Dr. Hoag earned a medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He completed a master’s degree in physiology/biophysics at Virginia Commonwealth and a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Richmond.

Dr. Hoag completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth, where he received awards for scholarship and an outstanding residency. He went on to complete a pulmonary/critical care fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Hoag is an assistant professor of medicine/pulmonary and critical care medicine for Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He has served on multiple committees for the university and its affiliated hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital, where he is also a pulmonologist and critical care physician.

Dr. Hoag has been a principal and sub-investigator for multiple clinical trials. He has been published in journals such as Respiration and Chest, in addition to and the Journal of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.

Dr. Hoag serves as a reviewer for several clinical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Southern Medical Journal and The Laryngoscope. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, American Thoracic Society and HHT Foundation International.
