If you are visiting CTCA from outside of Philadelphia, we understand you may be nervous about where you will stay and what to expect when you get here. Since most of our patients (about 70 percent) travel to our hospitals from out of town, we have a team in place to help with all of these details.

The Guest Services Department at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center (Eastern) is here to make your visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible. 

Your support system throughout treatment

Led by Kurt Benkurt, the guest services team strives to ensure you have the best experience possible. They will serve as a support system for you throughout your treatment.

The guest services team is available at the hospital’s front desk Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to address your questions and concerns. The team is also on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 

Specific duties of the members of the Guest Services Department include:

Comfort Rounds

If you are staying in the hospital as an inpatient, the guest services team, along with representatives from each complementary medicine department, will visit you twice a week in what are called "Comfort Rounds." The purpose of these visits is to make sure you and your caregivers are as comfortable as possible and your needs are being met.

Volunteer Program

The Volunteer Program at Eastern currently has about 25 active volunteers. Since the start of the program in July 2007, volunteers have contributed close to 500 overall hours of service to various hospital departments, including the Outpatient Clinic, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Patient Relations.

Concierge service

Eastern’s Concierge service is an information station for the hospital. Our Concierge welcomes guests and offers assistance in directing them to the right location. In addition, our Concierge serves as backup to Eastern’s Transportation Department, helping with luggage, wheelchairs and parking cars.

Continued support after treatment

The guest services team offers consistent advocacy and support throughout your entire journey. When you return to the hospital for follow-up visits, the team will help bridge the gap between your home and the hospital. This unique service is all part of the patient-centered care model demonstrated every day at CTCA.
