Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services
Michele Szkolnicki, an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 20 years of experience, joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in 2007. As Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center, Ms. Szkolnicki oversees more than 150 nurses and eight other hospital departments. Prior to joining CTCA, she served as the Chief Operating Officer of Drexel University Physicians at the Drexel University College of Medicine. Ms. Szkolnicki’s major accomplishments at CTCA include: leading the effort to switch from paper records to electronic health records; starting the hospital’s clinical research department and IRB; directing efforts to improve HCAHPS scores, which earned the hospital the Women’s Choice Award and recognition by WomenCertified®; achieving a ranking of number 6 on the Top 100 list of hospitals in the Patient Experience category; and, helping the hospital achieve an outstanding 90 percent computerized physician order entry rate.
Ms. Szkolnicki was named one of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2011 Healthcare Innovation Awards recipients, receiving the Nurse Administrator of the Year award. She is a member of several professional organizations and frequently presents at conferences and programs throughout the country.
