Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Eastern Regional Medical Center (Eastern), our state-of-the-art cancer hospital in Philadelphia, has been offering patients integrated, patient-centered cancer care since 2005.
At Eastern, you will discover an expert cancer team that provides advanced cancer treatments and technologies combined with supportive therapies, all based on your individual needs and all under one roof.
Advanced Treatments & Technologies
This CTCA® cancer hospital offers state-of-the-art imaging technology, including GE Discovery™ PET/CT 600 scanner, MRI, ultrasound, large bore CT/RT with simulation, and a Mammography Suite. We also offer genetics testing and counseling.
We recently introduced the NanoKnife® System, an advanced, minimally invasive option for patients with tumors in challenging or high-risk locations. We also have a Neurosurgery Program and an Orthopedic Oncology Program. Our medical oncologists provide Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and targeted cancer therapies, including Provenge® for prostate cancer and YervoyTM for metastatic melanoma.
Our Radiation Oncology Department offers innovative radiation technologies, including IGRT, TomoTherapy®, RapidArc®, TheraSphere®, APBI, HDR Brachytherapy, Trilogy™, Local Hyperthermia, Deep Tissue Hyperthermia, Calypso® 4D Localization System™, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, and Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT).
Our world-class Advanced Center for Lung and Thoracic Oncology provides the latest in interventional pulmonology by a multidisciplinary team of cancer experts. We also offer a full-service Sleep Center, cardiology services, on-site nephrology/dialysis, a Critical Care Department with board-certified critical care physicians and intensivists, a wound and ostomy care team, and infectious disease care.
Coming Soon: Eastern will soon add genomics, gynecologic oncology, Varian® Linear Accelerator TrueBeam®, and the da Vinci® Surgical System to its cancer treatment options.
Ongoing Support
Throughout your treatment at Eastern, you will have access to 24/7 care management, a Nutrition Department, and a Naturopathic Medicine Department. We also offer a Mind-Body Medicine Department, which provides stress management, relaxation therapy and private, family and group psychological counseling, and chaplains who provide Spiritual Support Services upon request, including lay ministry trainings in the community and a Forgiveness Program. Our Oncology Rehabilitation team provides a full range of therapies, including occupational, physical, massage and speech therapy, as well as lymphedema management.
We also offer a Quality of Life Center to help you proactively manage any side effects, along with other health issues and concerns that may arise during your treatment. Acupuncture and chiropractic services are available, along with tools for managing side effects, pain and quality of life issues.
Hospital Amenities
Eastern houses a modern, self-service style dining room, in which we offer specially- prepared meals, including organic produce and natural meats for a wholesome, balanced diet. You and your family will also have access to a variety of activities, outings and educational classes.
For the convenience of patients who come to our cancer hospital from outside of Philadelphia, we offer comfortable guest rooms within the facility, or suggestions for nearby lodging at discounted rates. Our Transportation Department will coordinate the details with you to bring you to and from the hospital.
