This Thursday, Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia will be celebrating five-year cancer survivors at their annual Celebrate Life® event. This year’s Celebrate Life theme is “Living the Moments.”
The 2-day event will honor the survivors for all they have accomplished, and celebrate their milestones. The day will kick off with a welcome reception, followed by a tree-planting ceremony on the hospital grounds. A tree will be planted in honor of every celebrant. For every tree that is planted at the hospital, a tree will be donated to the local park district to be planted in the nearby parks.
Additional festivities will include:
- Celebrant recognition dinner: Celebrants will receive a recognition plaque, and will give a yellow rose to a CTCA employee who impacted their journey.
- Hope RoundsSM: Survivors will visit patients at the hospital, share their experiences and offer encouragement.
- Lunch and celebration: Patients, stakeholders and CTCA leadership will speak.
A personalized gold leaf will be added to the Tree of Life decoration that adorns the wall in the hospital lobby to show the milestone and to give hope to patients actively undergoing treatment.
