How We Diagnose You
Learn More About Our Innovative Diagnostic Technologies: Chat with Us | Email Us
Our team of cancer experts at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) uses advanced, minimally invasive diagnostic technology to detect cancerous cells anywhere in the body.
When you first visit one of our hospitals, we will perform a complete array of diagnostic tests to diagnose and stage the disease. Based on these results, we’ll work with you to develop a comprehensive, fully-integrated treatment plan that best suits your individual needs.
Our Advanced Diagnostic Tools
We use advanced detection tools to diagnose and stage cancer, track treatment response, and monitor tumors with greater accuracy and precision throughout your cancer treatment:
- Before treatment, we will accurately locate tumors and stage the disease, and determine the best combination of cancer treatments for you. Tumor Molecular Profiling helps us identify the right chemotherapy or targeted therapy drugs before treatment, which minimizes unnecessary toxicity and identifies a more effective treatment approach from the start.
- During your treatment, we will track the size of the tumor and/or progression of the disease, and modify treatment based on how you respond to it. Navigational Bronchoscopy is a revolutionary technology that allows us reach deep inside the lungs, to diagnose and treat the smallest of tumors – without the risks of surgery.
- After you complete treatment, we will follow up with you to evaluate any symptoms you may have, and schedule regular check-ups to monitor for any signs of metastasis or recurrence. The Discovery™ PET/CT 600 allows us to accurately detect small lesions in areas of the body subject to movement, like the breasts, lungs, colon and prostate.
