The Orthopedic Oncology Program at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) provides specialized treatment for malignant musculoskeletal diseases, including primary bone cancer and soft tissue sarcomas, as well as cancers that have metastasized to the bone. The program also addresses orthopedic problems that may occur alongside cancer and/or its treatment.
Why We're Different
When fighting any form of bone cancer, it's important to surround yourself with a multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists experienced in treating tumors of the musculoskeletal system and providing quality of life care.
CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center (Eastern) offers an expert cancer team that includes an orthopedic oncologist. We provide traditional and new, innovative therapies to help you fight cancer combined with supportive therapies to build strength and help you get back on your feet again.
How We Support You
Throughout your treatment, you'll receive supportive therapies, such as nutrition therapy, naturopathic medicine, pain management, oncology rehabilitation, mind-body medicine, and spiritual counseling. These therapies can help reduce treatment-related side effects (e.g., pain, nausea, fatigue), preserve mobility, and improve your overall quality of life.
The orthopedic oncology team also provides general orthopedic care to address any orthopedic problems you may experience alongside your cancer treatment, such as osteoporosis or arthritis.
