Gateway for Cancer Research℠ was created by Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) founder Richard J Stephenson as a way to fund innovative cancer research with the goal of saving the lives of today’s cancer patients. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Gateway is a completely separate entity from CTCA and does not provide any funding to CTCA® research. However, both share a commitment to innovation and compassionate patient care.
Gateway’s mission is to fund meaningful and breakthrough clinical trials worldwide that help people living with cancer to feel better, live longer and conquer cancer, today.
Because Gateway expenses are underwritten by CTCA, 99 cents of every dollar Gateway receives goes directly to fund cancer clinical trials that help cancer patients now and in the future.
Since 1991, Gateway has provided millions of dollars in funding for over 150 clinical trials and treated over 3,000 patients. Gateway has funded researchers at some of the best cancer centers and academic institutions in the United States, Canada, Israel and Switzerland. Just a few Gateway-funded trial achievements include:
Gateway funds all types of cancer in all stages. On average, it costs just $16.56 to fund one patient for one day in a Gateway-funded trial. Learn more about how you can fund one day, one week, one month or make a donation of any amount to help Gateway realize its mission and vision of shaping a world in which a cancer diagnosis is no longer feared.
