Health care developments continue in Tulsa despite the onset of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, health industry leaders said at a NAIOP meeting this week. David Huey, senior principal and health care architecture director at Dewberry Architects, highlighted the "patient-focused care" areas the company is working on at Tulsa's Cancer Treatment Centers of America. He said the treatment rooms will differ from traditional white-walled rooms, with equipment put out of sight to reduce patient nerves. The "family friendly" approach is meant to welcome both the patients and their families in for support.
