TomoTherapy® Highly Integrated Adaptive Radiotherapy is another advanced radiation therapy delivery system Cancer Treatment Centers of America uses to eliminate colorectal cancer. TomoTherapy combines 3D CT imaging technology with sophisticated tools for planning and delivering radiation therapy. To help ensure that the radiation treatment is as precise as possible, the system’s built-in CT scanner confirms the shape and position of a tumor before treatment begins.
TomoTherapy’s powerful and precise radiation beams target hard-to-reach colorectal tumors. The system revolves 360 degrees around a patient to deliver treatment from multiple angles. Because the radiation is so targeted, healthy tissues closest to the tumor receive minimal radiation exposure.
