Tumor Molecular Profiling for Cervical Cancer

Our goal at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is to develop a cervical cancer treatment plan suited to your needs. For women with recurrent cervical cancer in particular, we perform tumor molecular profiling to identify chemotherapy drugs and other targeted therapies when standard therapy has failed.

Tumor molecular profiling helps us identify which drugs may work earlier and with greater precision. If you have recurrent disease, we’ll try to get a sample of tissue during surgery. Then, we’ll test for the presence of a variety of enzymes and genetic mutations to identify which therapies are likely to be most effective. By allowing us to choose more effective drugs, cervical cancer tumor molecular profiling can help mitigate toxicity to you, and lets your care team target cancer cells as aggressively as possible from the start.
