TomoTherapy® Highly Integrated Adaptive Radiotherapy (HI-ART) is a new radiation therapy option available to you at Cancer Treatment Centers of America that combines Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), the accuracy of CT scanning technology and advanced tools for planning and delivering radiation therapy in one machine.
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy, or IMRT, is a state-of-the-art radiation delivery system offered at CTCA. It¹s called the most significant breakthrough in radiation treatments in the past 30 years. IMRT can treat difficult-to-reach tumors with new levels of accuracy such as tumors in the spine, head, neck, prostate, lung, liver, and brain.
High-Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy is an innovative form of internal radiotherapy (radiation treatments), also called interstitial irradiation. The comprehensive, aggressive approach to treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America frequently uses internal radiotherapy for cancers of the breast, cervix, lung, prostate, rectum, tongue and uterus
CTCA facilities are among the few hospitals in the United States to offer TheraSphere®, an innovative, new therapy that delivers radiation directly to tumors in the liver using tiny glass beads called microspheres. The microspheres measure one-third the diameter of a human hair and are embedded with a radioactive element to target liver cancer cells.
