Xeloda® is the first FDA-approved oral (taken by mouth) chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and metastatic colorectal cancer. It is also FDA approved for treatment of Dukes' C (stage III) colon cancer.
An advantage of Xeloda® over other, similar forms of chemotherapy is that it can taken by mouth, instead of through sometimes painful or time-consuming transfusion procedures.
At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), your cancer doctors and practitioners will work closely with each other—and you—to outline a personalized cancer treatment plan. Together, you'll decide whether Xeloda® is appropriate for your needs. Your treatment plan will consist of an ideal combination of innovative, traditional and complementary/supportive therapies.

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), your team of cancer experts will keep you well informed of the potential side effects of Xeloda®, in addition to other treatment options for your metastatic breast cancer or colorectal cancer. As part of your customized treatment plan, we offer a range of supportive therapies to treat both your mind and spirit during this difficult time.
Xeloda® is used in combination with Taxotere® to treat breast cancer which has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic breast cancer). Xeloda® is also used in instances in which metastatic breast cancer patients have not improved following treatment with other medicines (such as paclitaxel and anthracycline-containing medicines, including doxorubicin).
For patients with stage III colon cancer, Xeloda® is an approved form of adjuvant (following surgery) therapy. Xeloda® is also approved for treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
At our cancer hospitals, your team of specialists will work together to gain a full understanding of where the cancer exists in your body, and will determine if Xeloda® is the right treatment for you.
