Inspired about his life despite a cancer diagnosis, George Drennan of Canton was among more than 200 cancer survivors who celebrated their five-year milestone since their first treatment recently at an event in Tulsa, Okla.
Those celebrating the milestone were honored at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Southwestern Regional Medical Center’s annual “Celebrate Life” event.
Drennan, now 65, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2006, and received his treatment in Tulsa.
“It is unique that I get to go from being a patient to being involved in this new hospital from the ground breaking,” said Drennan. “Part of the reason I came to CTCA is that I don’t have time for cancer. I let them worry about that and I get to live my life.”
