Cancer survivors celebrate five-year milestone today at hospital's annual celebration with ceremonies and discussions.
The Cancer Treatment Centers of America's "Celebrate Life" event will begin at 9:45 am at the Tulsa branch located at 81st Street and Highway 169. The event will recognize the more than 200 survivors celebrating their five-year milestone since their first treatment at the CTCA hospital.
According to a press release, the regional event will kick off with a tree planting ceremony and a white dove release, both of which are open to the public.
Following the outdoor ceremony, the five-year survivors and their caregivers will participate in "Hope Rounds." Cancer survivors will receive two commemorative lapel pins, one of themselves and another to share a symbolic transfer of hope to patients currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
