CTCA Launches Cancer Fighters ThriveTM
New Magazine to Provide Insight and Encouragement for People Living with Cancer
CHICAGO - July 17, 2008. Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) today unveiled Cancer Fighters ThriveTM, a new magazine providing news, information and encouragement to people living with cancer and their families. The quarterly publication will offer empowered patient profiles describing emerging medical developments including the vital roles played by nutrition, naturopathic medicine, mind-body medicine, spiritual counseling and other therapies to help people fight cancer and live a better quality of life.
"We hope Cancer Fighters Thrive will become a practical resource for people living with cancer," said CTCA president and CEO Steve Bonner. "Today’s cancer patients want to control their care shopping and decision making. The days of blindly accepting the advice of a single practitioner, an insurance company or even a friend or relative are long over. These consumers are making some of the most important decisions of their lives and are entitled to be empowered with the very best information available.
"Cancer Fighters Thrive will provide shared patient experiences including valuable information and insight that engages and inspires readers, and gives them places to go to get more information, and access to hopeful treatment alternatives."
CTCA selected Dallas-based QuestCorp Media Group, Inc. (QuestCorp) as publisher in March 2008 after a rigorous review process. QuestCorp provides a turnkey service including editorial services, layout and design, photography, project management, and advertising sales.
The first issue of Cancer Fighters Thrive is 36-pages and will have an initial press run of 25,000 copies. It will be mailed to the members of the CTCA Cancer Fighters organization, comprised of current patients and survivors, and their caregivers and loved ones. Cancer Fighters Thrive will be distributed from CTCA regional medical centers in suburban Chicago, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Tulsa, and at the CTCA community oncology practice in Seattle. It also will be distributed by community cancer support networks across the country.
In the continental USA, Cancer Fighters Thrive is available via subscription for $16.00 per year, which includes four quarterly issues. This cost is intended to defray processing and delivery costs only.
