Mark Lund, MD, director of interventional pulmonology, ICU and bronchoscpy at Eastern appeared in New Jersey’s Star Ledger on Sunday, February 3, 2008. The article focused on technological advances in the fight against life-threatening illnesses. Dr. Lund is one of only five annually trained interventional pulmonologists nationwide. He was interviewed about Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and how the specialized therapy helps lung cancer patients. According to Dr. Lund, “This treatment is very exciting, and the reason is that this program at Cancer Treatment Centers is trying to focus on not only allowing the patient to get maximal therapy so they can beat their cancer and survive, but it also offers tremendous quality of life by making their breathing much better. Focusing not only on a patient’s survival, but on how they survive is very important to me, and to the entire team here.”
