A Survivor's Story

Of Hope and Healing

Nicole Shares Her Experience

When she came to CTCA, breast cancer survivor Nicole found hope and healing.

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), your dedicated team of physicians and practitioners will combine their knowledge and skills to help design a breast cancer treatment plan based on your specific type of breast cancer and your individual needs.

When you first visit CTCA, you will meet with a medical oncologist to evaluate your treatment options, which can vary depending on the stage and type of your breast cancer. You may also meet with a surgical oncologist and radiation oncologist as part of the treatment planning process.

Examples of Some of the Types of Breast Cancers We Treat

  • Infiltrating (invasive) breast cancer breaks through normal breast tissue barriers and invades nearby areas. Invasive breast cancer can spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream and lymph nodes.
  • Pre-invasive breast cancer (DCIS, LCIS) is confined to the ducts or lobules and does not typically spread to the surrounding breast tissue or other parts of the body. Pre-invasive breast cancers can increase your risk for developing invasive breast cancer.
  • Inflammatory breast cancer causes the breast to appear red and swollen, and feel warm. The skin of the breast may also have a pitted appearance like orange skin.
  • Paget’s Disease of the breast is a rare form of cancer that begins in the breast ducts and spreads to the skin of the nipple and areola, which may result in irritated skin in these areas.
  • Metastatic breast cancer is cancer that has spread to other parts of your body.
  • Recurrent breast cancer is cancer that has returned after you have been treated for breast cancer. This type of breast cancer may come back in the breast, chest wall, or in other parts of your body.
