Your team of breast cancer experts will typically include, but is not limited to, the following clinicians:
- Surgical Oncologist
- Medical Oncologist
- Radiation Oncologist
- Orthopedic Oncologist (for metastatic breast cancer)
- Dietitian
- Naturopathic Clinician
- Pain Management Practitioner
- Rehabilitation Therapist
- Mind-body Therapist
- Pastoral Care Provider
Collaboration & Communication with Breast Cancer Experts
When you arrive at CTCA, your breast cancer care team will work closely with you to understand your unique diagnosis, needs and preferences. Then, together, you will develop an integrated treatment plan that’s right for you.
Throughout your treatment, you’ll receive ongoing evaluations, personal consultations, education and support. In addition, your care team meets each week to discuss the progression of your treatment as it relates to your specific medical, nutritional, emotional and spiritual needs. This allows our breast cancer experts to share in your progress and work to improve the quality of your treatment and care.
You will also be assigned a personal care manager (a registered nurse) who will follow you from your first visit at CTCA through your entire breast cancer treatment and aftercare process. If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment or care, you may contact your care manager at any time.
