Your Breast Cancer Treatment Team
At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), your care team will work closely with you to understand your unique needs and develop a customized, breast cancer treatment plan based on those needs.
You’ll benefit from the expert medical advice and support of a broad, multidisciplinary team that will include medical, surgical and/or radiation oncologists, and a variety of other experienced clinicians. All of these combined resources are offered to you in one location, so that your care team is able to collaboratively manage a comprehensive and integrative plan for your breast cancer treatment.
In addition to meeting with your oncologists, you will also meet with other healthcare practitioners who specialize in complementary/supportive therapies, such as nutrition, naturopathy, mind-body medicine, physical therapy and pain management. As part of our whole-patient approach to breast cancer treatment, these complementary and alternative therapies will provide you with an integrative breast cancer treatment plan to treat all of you—not just your disease.
Each week, your care team at CTCA meets to discuss the progression of your breast cancer treatment as it relates to your specific medical, nutritional, emotional and spiritual needs. This facilitates an environment of open communication and collaboration, allowing our cancer experts to share in your progress, and work to improve the quality of your breast cancer treatment and care.
Also, you will be assigned a personal care manager who will follow you from your first visit at CTCA through your entire breast cancer treatment and aftercare process. If you have any questions or concerns about your breast cancer treatment throughout your relationship with CTCA, you may contact your care manager at any time.
