I wish you could be me - sitting and eating with cancer patients day in and out. I wish you could hear how they talk about the differences before and now. I keep reading about how researchers are on the edge of new and revolutionary treatments for cancer. I can't figure out why brilliant and well-trained physicians don't know that treatment goes much further and deeper than "treating" the body. Several years ago after I had two mastectomies, I wondered what I had left that defined me as a woman. I came to the beautiful and glorious knowing that my body parts have NEVER defined who Sue Smith is and never will!

Here at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, our spirits are treated. When my spirit is fed and loved and encouraged there is a remarkable difference in my life. I feel hope, joy and LIFE. CTCA hires people who smile, hug, educate and want us to live and live abundantly. We catch and receive it with open arms because WE WANT TO LIVE.

I see people come dragging in here on canes and in wheelchairs. I watch them for a few weeks and then I see them in charge. They get up out of those wheelchairs and smile, their color comes back and they get better. I rejoice in my heart because I know they have received more than "treatment". Their souls, minds and bodies have been given the total nourishment that they need to survive and thrive. And we (the patients) talk about it.

This is the most special cancer facility I have ever found. You give us help and hope and then as we are fed what we need we feed each other because we also want our friends to make it. This is a "can do" place. First you believe we "can" and then we believe we "can". We trust and our human spirits are fed. Then we eat at the round tables and as we talk and share, the believing spreads. We are filled with excitement, hope and praise. Then we go home and we tell our miraculous stories to everyone and anyone who will listen.

The medical industry is missing the whole point. When our minds and spirits begin believing and receiving, our bodies get well. We are healed because our belief systems get what we need. Thank you for spreading hope, belief and life.

We are so much better after we come here. I am only one voice, but I am telling you what we are all saying, "nobody does it better than CTCA!"
