Hi, my name is Darlene Smith from Sun City, Arizona. I'd like to share with you how I came to know about Cancer Treatment Centers of America. It was in 1995 that I felt something was wrong and went to a gynecologist who told me my blood work showed no cancer. I still was not convinced so I returned in November and was then told by a different gynecologist that there was a possible problem. After many tests, I had a biopsy on January 10th and found out I had breast cancer. On January 22nd I underwent a radical mastectomy and the removal of 22 nodes, four of which were cancerous. I then started chemotherapy and became very ill. With much prayer and informative reading I asked every doctor I saw if I could be treated with vitamins.
A friend gave me a book on diseases and in this book I turned to the section on cancer. It was here that I read about Cancer Treatment Centers of America and that I should be on certain vitamins. I studied the list and called the toll free number provided. The kindest voice was on the other end of the phone line. The oncology information representative shared with me all that I had been searching for and how I could get the help I so much needed. He sent me information, encouraged me, called our insurance company and made all the arrangements for my husband and I to fly to Tulsa.
When we arrived at the airport someone was waiting there to meet us. The kindness everyone showed us was a sure sign we were at the right place. I was given a complete checkup and it was then I found out I needed another biopsy on the other breast. The surgeon asked if we could stay over the weekend and have the biopsy done on Monday. Thinking we would only be in Tulsa for three days we now needed to do some laundry. While doing our laundry, two ladies came by to ask if they could pray for me. God heard their prayer and my biopsy showed no cancer.
I have been back to Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Southwestern Regional Medical Center (Southwestern) many times and have learned so much about nutrition, eating the right foods, how to cope with my fears and how to help others know about CTCA. I truly feel it was God who helped me find this place and who kept me cancer free.
If you are searching for a place to get help fighting your cancer, I would encourage you to seek out CTCA. You will get the best medical care, treatments and personal attention in the hospital and clinic. The staff and personnel show so much love it flows throughout the center.
Learning to fight cancer is the best thing you can do for yourself. I'm thankful to God that He led me in the right direction.
