Fractionated Dose Chemotherapy for Bone Cancer
Medical oncologists at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) have been offering fractionated dose chemotherapy as a bone cancer treatment option for several years.
In contrast to conventional chemotherapy (in which chemotherapy drugs are administered in a single, large dose), fractionated dose chemotherapy involves administering the total chemotherapy dose in smaller amounts over a longer period of time (e.g., three to five days). Fractionated dose chemotherapy may help reduce some of the unpleasant side effects of standard chemotherapy, making treatment for certain types of bone cancer more tolerable.
