Photodynamic therapy for bile duct cancer
For people with unresectable (tumors that cannot be removed with surgery), photodynamic therapy might be a good option.
Your care team at CTCA will work with you to determine if photodynamic therapy is the right choice of treatment for you.
What is photodynamic therapy?
Photodynamic therapy uses light-sensitive drugs to target bile duct tumors.
During this treatment, a light-activated drug is injected into a vein. An endoscope is then passed down the throat and into the bile duct, and light is aimed at the tumor to kill the cancerous cells.
