Photodynamic Therapy for Bile Duct Cancer
At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), we may use photodynamic therapy to treat some bile duct cancers. During this treatment, a light-activated drug is injected into a vein. An endoscope is passed down the throat and into the bile duct, and light is aimed at the tumor to kill the cancerous cells.
