Your Initial Consultation
Upon your arrival at CTCA, our doctors will review your medical records and healthy history, and perform a complete array of diagnostic tests and procedures. In addition, you will have a comprehensive evaluation and consultations with your oncologists, naturopathic clinician, dietitian, and other members of your multidisciplinary care team.
Information gathered during this time helps us formulate treatment recommendations best suited to you. It generally takes just a matter of days from your arrival at CTCA until you have a comprehensive treatment plan, tailored to your needs, in place.
Under One Roof

At each CTCA hospital, your dedicated team of cancer experts will deliver all of your cancer treatments and therapies within the hospital. This structure provides the following benefits:
- The members of your care team are able to meet regularly to discuss your needs and the progress of your treatment.
- All of your appointments/treatments will take place at the hospital, so you don’t have to go from one location to another.
- Your oncologists work alongside complementary medicine clinicians to provide fully-integrated treatment, which helps to reduce side effects and improve your quality of life during cancer treatment.
Prompt Turnaround Times
How many times have you had a blood test, X-ray, or biopsy and had to wait a week or more for the results? We understand that scheduling delays or long waits for test results are often distracting, stressful and unnecessary.
Depending on the test, we’ll get you results within 48 hours, and usually sooner. MRI results usually arrive within six hours. This speeds up the process so that our physicians can analyze the results and develop an appropriate course of action as quickly as possible.
In addition, our Electronic Health Records system allows your care team members to work collaboratively from one automated patient record. This system helps to expedite scheduling for tests and procedures, and improves the delivery of treatment plans, recommendations and orders.
